July 15, 2015

I am joining for the first time the soap challenge hosted by GreatcakesSoapworks by Amy Warden. The July soap challenge is titled Embracing Opposites. I am super excited. Yay!

In fact, I was so excited that I forgot to take photos of the process except after it was all done and poured in the mold. Here is the photo of the soap with Taiwan swirl.

This soap is named Black Diamond.

I am using natural colorants for this soap - activated charcoal for the black and kaolin clay for the white. Since I want to use this soap as a facial bar, I have added grapeseed oil, jojoba oil and shea butter together with the base oil. Due to the high percentage of soft oils used, it was quite soft when I cut it the next day. I should have waited another day before cutting it. Lesson learned. Patience is the key.

Below is the photo right after the cut.

This is my version of Embracing Opposites and I hope you enjoy reading my story just as much as I enjoyed making it. :)

This soap is suitable for oily and acne prone skin. It can be use as a facial bar as well.

If you want to purchase this soap, please drop me an email at jcsoapgems@gmail.com.  I will revert to you asap.
